Braille
It is a system that enables visually chalanged and visually impaired children to read and write, AATMJYOTI also conducts classes through braille which girls are efficiently using with the help of their teachers. AATMJYOTI has braille trained teachers who work continuously with dedication for the improvement of girls’ education.
For learning through braille, a library has been set up on the school’s campus in which braille books and braille slates have been kept along with common books. Children can use them whenever they want at their convenience during their practice. The institution has seven braille trained teachers teaching the girls and working very hard with them. One of the braille teachers is visually chalanged,
but keeping in mind her personal experiences, she has taught the children to read through braille very well. A separate room has been built on the campus to take Braille classes where, along with formal education, they are taught through Braille so that when children go to study in other schools and colleges from here, they can study with children with normal vision.

Preventive health & Nutrition (regular health check up)
Aatmjyoti takes special care of the overall mental and physical health of the girls. Food has a very important place in physical health, keeping this in mind, children are nourished well and fed four times a day.
To maintain that, and according to season, a monthly food chart is made and verified by a dietician so that the children get a healthy diet for their overall development.
After waking up in the morning, they are given breakfast with milk and suggested breakfast i.e., poha/ upma /paratha etc. During lunch, they are served lentils, rice, chapati, vegetables and salad. For the evening snacks, they are given Poha/ Upma with tea, and at dinner, they are served lentils, rice, roti, vegetable, or khichdi etc.
Regularly, our volunteer doctors pay a visit to do health check-ups.
Every month doctors come for their health check-ups and routine tests, and if needed, the children are sent to the hospital for their treatment. They conduct workshops and seminars, especially on health and hygiene related to girls where children are told about their cleanliness, especially during menstruation and the difficulties they face and how they should take care of themselves.
To Keep their mental health and development intact, Specialised teachers conduct Yoga and meditation sessions every morning. This helps them to be happy and focused in their day to day activities and studies.

Smart Education
AATMJYOTI provides quality education to all the children through digital medium as well. The institute try it’s best to facilitate laptop/ desktop and smart phone to every student for the continuation of their studies. They are learning basic programming like MS Office- excel, word, etc. Aatmjyoti has a well-equipped computer lab in which desktops have been
Kept for the convenience of the children, as well as the facility of the laptops is also available so that the girls do not miss a chance if unable to attend the lab due to some problems.
Keeping the Corona epidemic in mind, the education of children across the country was done through smartphones. Aatmjyoti also arranged for smartphones for all the children living and studying here.
Since girls started taking classes through smartphones, it came to the notice of everyone that Girls gained knowledge in all their subjects through smartphones efficiently. Through the audio clips, the children were able to understand things easily and were able to explain their points of view. That way, even during the corona epidemic, the Aatmjyoti Sanstha continued their education without any break. Aatmyoti not only prepared the children to fight this epidemic but also took full responsibility for their education and helped them in every way.

Yoga & Gym
Aatmjyoti takes full care of children’s physical as well as mental development. Yoga is an essential activity for all the teachers and girls living in Aatmjyoti, which they do every day. The founder of this institution, Mrs. Mody herself is an expert in yoga practice.
Along with other qualified trained teachers, every girl and teachers living in Aatmjyoti are proficient in almost all yoga asanas. From 6:00 to 8:00, there are physical and mental health activities for the girls in which Yoga has a prominent place. Sometimes it is surprising to see girls performing asanas which children of this age are usually unable to perform. Yoga trained teachers also come to Aatmjyoti to teach yoga appropriately. Few girls have become certified yoga teachers and can adopt it as a career in future if they want. Since they have got the certificate, they now teach yoga to their hostel inmates and can make it a career later if they wish.
An open gym has been built for girls on the school premises itself so that their physical health can be taken care of. For this purpose, many machines have been installed in the gym. Not only do girls use this gym for their physical health, but they also get to spend a lot of fun time with each other. It is a mixed place for children to play, have fun and be healthy. In appearance, it seems to be just a place to play, but it has been designed very beautifully so that they can do proper exercises in it. They are helped by the sports teachers and the school teachers and they are given pre-training before the exercise. All the teachers at the school and hostel are supervised around him when they use the gym.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
Music is a strong medium to develop the expression of feelings. These activities can develop various opportunities for children who like to develop an appreciation for all types of music as a mode of self-expression. It also develops listening and language skills and awareness of rhythm.
Music can develop spatial awareness through movement.
Music is a convenient way to teach body concepts and positional concepts through songs that teach concepts like songs that require students to follow directions and perform actions because the student who is severely visually impaired cannot learn by observing and imitating the actions of others.
In the evening, girls take up different types of training according to their interests and abilities. These cultural activities have their own importance, for this, with the help of trained teachers and volunteers, Aatmjyoti Sanstha trains them in musical and dance activities.
They’re getting training in musical instruments like Tabla, Violin, Drum Harmonium, Synthesizer, Guitar, etc. The girls of Aatmjyoti Sanstha have participated in competitions organized at various places and have won many awards as well. The girls are very skilled in singing. It is an essential part of the prayers in the morning and evening, at the time of lunch and dinner, they also recite slokas in Sanskrit at bedtime, thus making the atmosphere of the hostel decent and pure. The talents of fellow girls also come to the fore, along with music, and they are very adept at performing here. Many forms of dance are taught to the girls like Kathak, Garba and Bollywood dance. Girls are very fond of dance, and they do it exceptionally well.

Cooking & Bakery
At Aatmjyoti Sanstha, efforts are made to give training to girls to become self-reliant in every way, so they don’t depend on anyone for their work, especially for the food.
A kitchen has been set up at Aatmjyoti, in which all kinds of
equipment related to cooking like the gas stove, microwave etc., have been arranged under the supervision of a teacher. Along with training, girls are also trained to prepare bakery related dishes. Here girls are able to cook North Indian, South Indian and Italian food as well, along with this they
make different types of pickles, Amla dishes like Amla candy, etc. Moong gram and chana gram papads are also made very well. From time to time, many local people come to buy these delicacies made by the girls of Aatmjyoti Sanstha. Besides this, girls also make many types of cookies.

Art & Craft
At Aatmjyoti, girls take professional training for making various art and craft articles. They make beautiful candles and diyas which people love to buy on Diwali and other occasions. Girls make bags, slings, decorative mirrors, and rugs from waste clothes.
Along with decorative items they make beautiful rakhi as well. Girls like to use color and paint, so a pottery class is also being conducted. Art and craft are not only a good time-pass activity for the student, but it also develops various skills in them like, when they use their fingers to manipulate art materials, they develop fine motor skills.
By doing art or crafts they get to talk about their work which develops their communication skills when they are encouraged to reply to such questions- “Why did you choose that colour?” or “Tell me about what you made.”
Art and craft develop creativity which is important throughout their lives. By doing something creative, you allow for self-expression, and this lets children express (and cope with) their feelings.
Art and craft activities give girls a sense of achievement and allow them to take pride in their work, which makes them confident. Making art is a great and safe way to discover that it’s okay to make mistakes and sometimes by doing things ‘wrong’ can lead you to a whole new idea.
