Sapna, a visually impaired hosteller is a great example of it, you will never miss the innocent smile on her face. When you ask her story she says, I was only 6 when suddenly one day I stopped seeing completely. I got very disappointed in my life and could not figure out what to do with my life then. My parents came to know about the Aatmjyoti residential school located in Gwalior, they took me here and after that, I started staying in this hostel. Gradually my life started changing here. From the phase of despair, I started getting a lot of encouragement, especially from Mody (Mrs. Sheela Mody) Madam who explained to me a lot of things and told me about my problem and helped me to move out of that.
Gradually I started learning to do my things with the guidance of trained teachers. I do my daily chores myself; I don’t need any support and apart from this, I learned many things. I have participated in many national level sports (race) and music competitions (Tabla), and I have won prizes in them, I am a yoga trained teacher, I have taken arts in 11th class in studies and social science is my favourite subject. today I am 16 years old, and I cannot describe what has been given to me in these 10 years as I do not have words to describe but I will request all the people to help everyone. Aatmjyoti is a very good organization working very well with children. It needs your help to grow so that children like me get a chance to live a dignified life.
