Aatmjyoti Blind Girls’ School

Celebrating women’s day makes more sense when it actually means empowering those women who are marginalized or at disadvantage due to some physical disabilities. At Aatmjyoti, we are committed to the idea of women empowerment in its true sense. This reflects in our enthusiastic visually- challenged girls who always make us proud with their extraordinary efforts, be it education, arts and crafts and sports. We can not be more happy to announce that  in recently conducted trials at Barkatullah University, four of our girls have been selected for the first ever blind women’s cricket team of M.P. It is a proud moment for not only all of us here at Atmajyoti but also to all the women and girls who want to show the world their abilities and what they are capable of doing despite physical disabilities.

It is often hard to imagine how visually challenged people manage their day to day life, leave alone playing outdoor games and doing well, too. But, our girls have proved that being visually-challenged is not a challenge that they can not overcome. And their selection to the first ever blind women cricket team of M.P. is an assertion that they can achieve the unthinkable when provided guidance and support. They can excel in various walks of life and not let visual impairment stop them from achieving their goals.   If provided assistance, it is very much possible for the marginalized and disable people to perform extraordinary deeds and that is the idea Aatmjyoti holds close to its heart.

Happy Women’s Day!!
